About T.P.
Torrey Prather has worked in the sports performance and fitness industry as a Strength and Conditioning Coach, a Master Personal Trainer, and Master Group Fitness Instructor for 25 years. In that time he has trained people from all walks of life. He has trained clients with very little or no exercise experience, elite professional athletes, and everything in between. This professional experience in the fitness industry combined with his personal experience as a D-1 college and professional athlete has given him ability to properly assess clients needs to determine their starting point and design progressive training programs to help them reach their goals.
In addition to being the creator and Director of Operations for Protector Fitness, Torrey is also a Violence Advisor at Sheepdog Response, a Certified Executive Protection Specialist, a USCCA Certified Firearms Instructor, a USCCA Official Partner, a Texas LTC Instructor, and is currently a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt.
Torrey loves the opportunity to help people reach their fitness goals and fine tune their marksmanship and defensive shooting skills. He takes great pride in helping people improve their physical performance and getting his students "On Target" on the range.
Torrey now brings his 25 years of developed soft skills in a personal service based industry, high level hard skills in combatives and firearms, and the same work ethic and attention to detail that he built his fitness career on to the public safety and security industries.

The Open Range can be used to introduce new shooters to firearms or it can be used to challenge the skills of the most experienced shooters. There are challenges to keep young shooters engaged like the Bomb Blast or the Can Toss; we can also set up a standard range target for new shooters to gain confidence in proper grip and sight picture. Elite and competitive shooters can challenge themselves with drills focusing on Trap Shooting, Moving Targets, Speed, Tracking, Transitions, and Shoot / Don't Shoot scenarios.
